However, during a long internet download, who wants to press a key every couple of minutes so that the machine finished the download without interruptions?

Update the server first and then use the Update Manager to update the entire client base.

Windows 7 and Vista Clients now report more Hardware details such as Memory, CPUs, Vendor, their last Thermal State, Power Supply State or failure etc.
Display power management can now be influenced by running applications and performance counters. So for example you can avoid a dark screen while a Power Point Presentation is running or while watching a movie. On the other side, dark screen can be allowed during long internet downloads or backup processes.
Additionally several bugfixes were made.
