# Facts
Usual user have about 3-5 really important auto-startup programs which is run on Windows startup. These are system drivers for keyboard, mouse, monitor, e.t.c. However, many other programs put their links to startup area to always run in the background, like, for example: update modules. These modules used not very often, may be even once per month, but dramatically decrease system performance by always running in the computers memory and checking for updates.
# By disabling such good, but unwanted softwares you can get top PC performance (disabling auto-startup, but not removing program itself). Usually, if disabling startup record of some software it is still working fine, not loosing any features. Of cause you can always roll back any change you have made!
# Remove viruses and spyware
Viruses and spyware also put their links to the startup area and start with Windows. You can catch them using Startup Guard, but it is recommended for advanced users only.
