Publisher's Description:
AcaStat simplifies statistical analyses and quickly produces summary reports that can be printed, saved, or exported to Microsoft Word, Excel, or any other word processor or spreadsheet. Create, import data files, or import data copied from spreadsheets or data tables to develop crosstabulations, descriptive statistics, and significance tests. Unlike most other statistical packages, AcaStat also includes a summary statistics module that uses means, counts, and proportions to create and interpret confidence intervals and statistical tests.
The free Special Edition version allows data analysis for up to 30 observations and 20 variables. AcaStat is inexpensive to upgrade to the Licensed Edition.
Version 6 has added a control panel for statistical procedures that allows you to select and run analyses alongside the output window. Windows Vista compatible.
Data Grid
* Spreadsheet edit capacity 200,000 data cells (Licensed Edition)
* Import delimited text files
* Paste tables from other software such as Microsoft Excel and Access
* Export comma and tab delimited text files for use by other software
* Split large data files into smaller files by selecting key variables for creating a subset data file
* Create variable and value labels, format decimal rounding, set missing values
* Variable manipulation includes compute new variable, combine variables, trim extreme values, compare dates, and recode
* Assign weight variable to frequencies and descriptive analyses
* Copy and paste data from spreadsheets, documents, and database tables
* Use import paste feature to automate spreadsheet setup and data importing
Statistics
* Frequencies tables (count, percent, total, category count)
* List observations
* Descriptives (mean, median, variance, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis)
* Explore descriptives by subgroups
* Diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity, specificity, predictive values, likelilhood ratios)
* Save z-scores
* Crosstabulations provide count, row %, col %, total %
* Summary reports of percents, counts, means and measures of dispersion
* T-tests and one-way ANOVA
* Chi-square (Cramer™s V, Pearson C, Lambda, Kappa)
* Pearson correlation and correlation matrices
* Simple and multiple regression (OLS and Logistic); save residuals and predictive values
* Charts include histogram, scattergram, column, pie, line
* Simulation module creates single random samples of a data set
* Repeated random sampling; adjustable settings for number of iterations and sample size
* Control option is available for all procedures that allows users to hold the value of a one variable constant
SumStats
* One and two sample t-test of means
* One-way ANOVA (4 sample)
* One and two sample z-test of proportions
* Chi-square (5x5 table)
* Margin of error and 90%-95%-99% confidence intervals for means and proportions
* Standardized scores (z-score)
* Diagnostic accuracy measures (sensitivity, specificity, predictive values, likelihood ratios)
* Sample estimator conducts power analysis for the difference between two proportions (z-tests) and two means (t-tests)
* Module-specific instructions are presented and are replaced after a calculation with an interpretation of the results
Output
* Export to Word or Excel (if available)
* Convert output to tab-delimited format for copying and pasting into any spreadsheet software
* View output for current procedure or view log of all analysis for current session
* Save as text file, print, or copy and paste into word processing software
